Today’s special: 4 tapes from Kingsboro

The Kingsboro Press put out a series of artists’ tapes, 4 in total.

These crystal clear cassettes are tinted yellow and decorated with only the finest clip art. Each of these tapes vary in design, some with art of the palms and a warm sunset, a moon saying thanks, and The Kingsboro crest of two lions holding up something.

*Deeper than the Deepest Sea (Our Love is Gonna Grow)*

Martine Syms and Marco Kane Braunschweiler run Golden Age of Chicago and their love and affection filled mix includes some Connie Francis, Weird War, and Muddy Waters… These tracks range from Northern Soul hits of 1960s to 1980’s Big Daddy Kane, very very romantic.

*Flood of Love*

Milano Chow draws and is the brains behind Medium Rare. Her complation features some Sexual Harrassment, White Zombie, and Milk n’ Cookies… It’s all kind of thrash, industrial, jangle pop, and up the post-punx.

*Nothing Is True, Everything is Permitted*

Melissa Ip is a NYC artist/ zine maker and her jams includes some Flipper, Minutemen, Void, Nation of Ulysses… grunge, hxc, up the punx!!!!

*Poca A’Poco with Clare Wohlnick*

Clare Wohlnick is an Australia-based artist and proprietor of Coastal Shelf, her tracks features some Tully, Logic System, Circle Pit and Coltrane…  a bit psychedelic, a bit dance, and a bit jazzy.

There are many other tracks on these playlists. These tapes are truely a goldmine of sweetness, like when you go through your older brother’s music collection and it is the quintessential influential component that changes your life from age 12. So come check them out at the store becuz they are super rare, super special and I don’t know where else you can find them.
